It’s Been A While…

My 2-week hiatus has turned into quite an extended break! I have been having issues with my right shoulder for a few years, and, while it wasn’t caused by juggling, the daily 40-minute sessions were aggravating it.

I am still determined to learn to juggle five, so I am doing what I can to get this shoulder in good working condition. Physical therapy has helped quite a bit. I have also started swinging Indian clubs, and I think it is really helping.

So I haven’t forgotten my lofty goal, and I am determined to get there, even it will take a bit longer than anticipated!

On Hiatus!

I’m am so busy getting ready for a health expo in Atlanta next week that I I need to take approximately a 2-week hiatus. I’m sure I will practice during that time, but I can’t devote 40 minutes a day to it in the coming 2 weeks!

I’ll be back!

Day 92

Today was a good practice day! I am gradually coming out of whatever strange spell has plagued me this week! I reached 11 throws at least five times, and had very few collisions. So I am feeling good about this. I know that plowing through the obstacles, setbacks and failures I encounter on this journey is all part of the process, and the end reward will be worth it. I can almost picture myself continuously juggling five, and I look forward to getting there for real.

Day Off

Taking today as my day off this week!

Day 91

Whew! I got to practice in my favorite meeting room today, and as I had hoped, I was able to pull myself out of my rut. It took quite a while, but I was consistently reaching 9 throws, got a few 11′s and even one 13. What a relief!

Collisions were happening as I was warming up, as well as over the past few days. It seems that keeping my pattern narrow was starting to backfire on me. So when pinning my elbows in, I angled my forearms out more than usual to widen the pattern. It wasn’t that bad – the balls still stayed within reach. It’s time to move toward this wider pattern since it looks better anyway!

Hopefully tomorrow I can practice outside. I’m afraid what will happen if I practice over my bed again; it’s a rut-creator!

Day 90

I’ve been juggling for 90 days so far! It’s been a long road, but it will all be worth it….once I get out of this rut! Once again, I feel like I have regressed as I am lucky if I reach 9 throws. I am really feeling totally outside the zone. I am looking forward to tomorrow when I get to practice in the meeting room. I think there is a chance I might be able to get in the zone there!

I’m keeping my fingers crossed! I miss my 11-throw streaks!

Day 89

Argh! Regression! It’s a tough time for me to fit in practice right now, as I am preparing my company for a large expo in a couple of weeks. So hopefully that is why I am having trouble even consistently reaching a clean 9-throw round. What happened to my 11-throw streaks?

I do believe this is a temporary slump that I will pull out of shortly. As I mentioned before, I usually do well on Tuesdays when I practice in a large meeting room, and that is coming up soon!

The important thing is that I am still on track, practicing and making the journey to be able to juggle 5 balls. It will happen for sure!

Day 88

Argh!! Not a good practice today. I was even having trouble reaching 9 consistently. I practiced indoors over my bed (because of the neighbors), where I usually don’t do my best. But it was windy and sprinkling outside so I had no choice. Looking forward to Tuesday when I get to practice in the meeting room where I have set all of my records! Maybe I’ll get a clean 13-throw round!

Day Off

My back is hurting – think I pulled something -  so no juggling today! Hopefully it will be better tomorrow!
